And why is a CountryMe moleskin garment a must have in your little persons wardrobe? The
answer is simple. Moleskin fabric is mint! It offers everything mothers dream of in a child’s
garment. Durable, yet soft and comfortable, practical but still stylish enough for that formal
occasion. Warm but not too heavy. It washes and washes... and bingo ! You probably don’t need to
iron it either!

If you are an animal lover like myself you will be pleased to know that no Moles are harmed when
moleskin is made. The name merely comes from the feel of the fabric. So what exactly is Moleskin if
you don’t get it from farming Moles?
Basically it comes from a cotton bush. The raw cotton is woven
into yarn and the yarn then woven into fabric known as a backer. The next bit is interesting as it is
the shearing of the fabric that creates the soft pile , like a moles skin!! And there you have the
name.! The thickness of the yarn and the density of the weave determines how heavy the fabric is.
CountryMe uses 340gm moleskin which we feel is the ideal weight for a child while still being warm
and comfortable. There is nothing worse than buying something for your child and they won’t wear
it. Rest assured, going on feedback from our customers, they won’t want to take them off! We
probably associate moleskin with high country farmers and the Australian Outback and when you
think about it, what two extremes! And this one fabric serves both purposes with its enduring
qualities. It was also used by armies for uniforms up until the early nineties ( just a wee interesting
fact for you)
CountryMe only sources genuine Jumbuck moleskin fabric and uses superior quality trims such as
the YGC metal zip, thread, and the CountryMe brass button ensuring the high standard of our
garments are never compromised. Our Moleskins come in four colours:
Taupe - Olive - Mocha - Beige

Team them up with a CountryMe Belt and a CountryMe shirt and your young one will be set to go
for any occasion or maybe just out to the paddock with Dad.
Our designer has worked tirelessly over the past five years to develop the best trouser for your
child. Being a mother herself she has incorporated all the little extras into a garment that she
would like for her own children and also listened to what you the customer has requested. In doing
so she has created a style that is suitable for all shapes and sizes from age one through to fourteen
years whether they be lad or lass. With a fully adjustable waistband on all sizes from Size One
through to size Fourteen, two deep front pockets, two back patch pockets , double stitched
seams, (your kids could be scrapping like a sack of cats and the seams will still hold) these trousers
will never fall apart. You can rest assured that when you purchase a garment from CountryMe, you
have made a wise investment.
